North Korea- Land of darkness

In our hyper media world it is interesting how much information is actually not shared or buried. In regard to North Korea, we mostly see media about their army or their missile program. But what we don’t see is the mass famines and the countrywide flooding, the prison/work camps. Between 1994 and 1998 it has been estimated that 800,000 to 2.4 million people died because of lack of food with most of those being children, at this time it is thought that the average adult in North Korea gets 600 cal of food per day, that is a 1/4 of what the body needs.

At this time North Korea is ranked #1 on the persecution scale, meaning that if you have any type of belief system besides the government approved most likely you will be put in a work camp for crimes against the government. This also means that North Koreans have very little to no access to the Gospel. Meaning that some 24 million people have only enough knowledge of God to condemn them to an eternity in Hell.

We as a Church need to stand up and fight against such brutality. Because of the ideas of one man an entire nation will perish. Please pray with me for the North Korean people, who are in almost complete darkness, who have no access to the eternal Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that bold men and women would answer the call to engage in mission work, to go to the hard places and boldly proclaim the word. Pray for those we are already there, who are already risking their lives to spread of gospel.
