God has chosen you to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery,
which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom,
so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.

While having lunch one day an old friend and I were visiting with some of our new found friends from Saudi Arabia. We were just talking and getting to know each other when one young lady looks at my friend, Tracy, and asks her, “What is your goal?” Then she turned and looked at me and said, “I know yours, but what is your goal?”, she said as she turned back to Tracy and awaited her response.
Really, she knows my goal?! What does she think it is? I had been evaluated and summed up and didn’t even realize it. Tracy had a great candid answer that came from her heart. So beautiful and simple is the gospel when we allow it to be. Jesus told us to always be ready to give an answer for the hope that is within us. We just never know when we will have that ‘Pop Quiz’ do we?
It is so important to be ready to give an answer for the hope that is in us, we may never have another chance to share truth and hope with that one individual who can meet Jesus when they meet us. Wherever we go, whatever we do, Jesus, the Light of the World who dwells in us and dispels all darkness. As ambassadors for Christ, this is to be our goal.
A fellow laborer in Christ was sharing with us how sometimes workers go into a country of darkness and they say they can actually feel the evil, I have also heard people say this and have felt it too. The oppression of the evil one is sometimes heavy to the point of tangible detection. Regretfully, some have refused to remain and serve Christ in such a location out of fear. Yet, this worker went on to report that we all too often forget the opposite is also true and much more powerful. The presence and Light of God casts out all darkness.
One person, who lives in an area of such darkness, expressed to our worker the fact that their ill grandmother was actually physically better whenever this Christian worker was visiting in their home.
The presence of God is with us wherever we go. His Light and His power supremely prevail, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. Let us fear not to go where He will send but love with a perfect love that will cast out all fear.
“You are from God, little children, and have overcome them;
because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.”
